Briefs keep community informed
The next scheduled community information brief for Fort Gordon is scheduled Jan. 15 at the Gordon Club, which is where commanders, first sergeants, family readiness group leaders, Soldiers and family members can get the latest information about events, activities, and key installation operation updates.
Organization leaders are in attendance to give a short overview of their services and are available to answer questions and take comments for improvements for the general Fort Gordon community.
Past issues brought up at a previous CIB are given a status update on the progress.
Each brief, the provost marshal speaks about the traffic trends and safety around the installation. For example, on-post housing parking is allotted two spaces per residence and policies are currently under review for changes.
The Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation host many activities for families through the month. Events are announced through social media, marquees, and the FYI magazine published monthly by DFMWR. This is an opportunity to listen upfront of the upcoming events and specials. Comments and questions can be asked to officials for them to accommodate the need of all service members and their families since each installation is different.
Highlights and information presented on the CIB slides is available at www.gordon.army.mil.
Soldier and other family support organizations such as the Religious Support Office, Army Better Opportunity for Single Soldiers program, and community clubs share helpful information about scholarships, services, their functions, and how they assist their community.
To stay informed and meet key officials within the Fort Gordon and Central Savannah River Area, attend the next community information brief scheduled Jan. 15 at the Gordon Club.
