Lion Brigade honors S.C. veterans
Colonel Robert L. Edmonson II, the commander of the 35th Signal Brigade, speaks at the North Augusta, S.C., Veterans Day program at Wade Hampton Veterans Park on November 11. The Fort Gordon Navy Choir, Navy Junior ROTC North Augusta High School Drill team, and other veterans’ and service organizations from the Central Savannah River Area participated in the event presented by the Jesse C. Lynch Memorial at American Legion Post 71. Edmonson met with Army veteran Capt. Carl Schutte, who served during World War II, before the program, in which he thanked members of the community for supporting Fort Gordon, Ga., service members and civilians during sequestration, the government shutdown, and Post 71 for their community service, and encouraged members of the community to hire veterans for their leadership abilities.
